Cononley Parish Council has objected to plans to build 15 new homes in the village.

Farmer John Teal is seeking permission to build a mix of 15 two-storey terraced and detached houses on a field at Meadow Lane.

The proposed development would be accessed by a newly-adoptable cul-de-sac, with a private driveway.

Although the parish council was generally supportive of building homes in that part of the village, it objected to this scheme, which is on land opposite the former Pear Tree Farm.

Parish Council chairman, Councillor Lois Brown, said: “The council felt the development would have too large an impact on a number of houses. It also feels the access is insufficient and unsafe, and increased traffic would make it a dangerous place for children.”
