Morton WI have received a grant of £250 under the Active Citizenship Award. The committee decided that two bursaries of £125 each should be available to members to enable them to use for fees for Denman College. Members who wished to be entered in the draw were invited to submit their names, and the two lucky members whose names were drawn were Jean Smith and Lynn Mutton.

Speaker for the evening was Gordon Dean who provided members with much laughter with his amusing recitations. The vote of thanks was given by Mrs Joan Sampson.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 11 at 7.20pm at Morton Institute. Mrs Patricia Clough will speak on her two favourite subjects – men and the theatre. Visitors are most welcome to attend at a cost of £3 to include refreshments.
