The morning service at Long Lee Methodist Chapel was led by John Hopkinson. Jesus The Light Of The World was the theme for the service. He spoke about light and its influence on our lives. Without it there would be no food and we need light to flourish. Lighthouses he said were a necessity to guide ships. There were readings by Ann Murgatroyd and John. Recorded music was provided by Sylvia Fox. The celebrant at the said holy communion service at St Barnabas’ Church was the Rev Dr Jonathan Pritchard. He preached on how best to prepare for Easter. The Rev Malcolm Foy was the celebrant at the later sung parish communion. He preached on ways in which keeping the commandments leads to good relationships with God and all who we meet. Readers were Carl Pybus and Jill Dodsworth, who also administered the chalice. Billy Clayton led the intercessions and was organist. The pattern of services at St Barnabas’ is under review and people were asked for their views.
