Just who does this Mark Burns-Williamson think he is? – Cost of extra policing (Keighley News, February 13). Wanting the taxpayers of Keighley to pay his wages and up his pension pot. As far as I’m concerned, he can whistle.
The only way I would pay any more to the police is if there are any police to be seen in Keighley. The police station in Hard Ings Road is practically empty. All the police have been moved out to either Shipley or Bradford.
We only have PCSOs, and they are restricted in what they can do. I say this because I pass this station at very early hours and it’s always in darkness. Get police back on the streets where they belong. That’s what we pay for, not enhancing some chair-bound person’s money pot. We don’t need another hanger-on.
