Children have enjoyed a fortnight of fun at East Riddlesden Hall.

The 17th-century National Trust property has staged a series of activities to keep youngsters entertained during the school half-term holidays.

An acorn hunt was held around the garden, and in craft sessions – manned by volunteers – children added artwork to a squirrel-themed mural.

Other attractions included a mud pie kitchen.

“The first weekend was very busy and it has gone from strength to strength,” said Carla Weatherall, visitor experience manager at the hall.

“The feedback we have received has been excellent. Because we have been closed during the winter, trust members have also been coming in and looking at the changes we have made. They have been delighted and said they will be back in the summer.”

The hall will be open at weekends only until March 24, when the new season – with weekday opening, Monday to Wednesday – begins.
