Carelink befriending scheme can provide support and companionship to older people who live alone and do not have many visitors. Carelink can arrange for one of its volunteer befrienders to visit each week for a cuppa and a chat, or perhaps to take a short walk together. Volunteers are police checked and vetted. To use this free service or to become a volunteer befriender to older people in this area, contact co-ordinator Maureen Basierak at Carelink on 609506 at the volunteer centre.
