A Keighley woman who works four days a week with Bradford District Care Trust has been shortlisted for an award.

Courtenay White, 20, is a finalist in the Regional Advanced Apprentice of the Year awards, run by NHS Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber.

“It feels great to be shortlisted when there are so many other brilliant apprentices out there,” she said.

“Winning would be a great achievement, but being shortlisted highlights my work within the trust is valued.”

Courtenay who is studying for a Level 3 NVQ in business administration at Shipley College, works as a business admin apprentice with the trust.

Stella Jackson, for the trust, submitted the award nomination.

She said: “Courtenay has embraced the apprenticeship programme, and used it as a foundation to develop her written and oral communication skills.

“Her abilities have led to her being given responsibilities over and above those originally envisaged, and she truly deserves recognition for her role.”

Winners will be announced during a ceremony in Leeds on March 7.
