A Worth Valley school paid homage to the Sochi Winter Olympics by adopting a wintry theme for its annual cerebral challenge.
Stanbury Village Primary dubbed its latest ‘cerebrathon’ ‘The Mind and Body Winter Olympics’.
All of the school’s 100 pupils were divided into ten mixed-age teams, which then competed against each other on Friday.
Activities included curling, throwing the snowball through the hoop and ‘building a bridge across the ice’.
Other contests for the youngsters included memory tests and a challenge to see which team could build the highest ‘Eiffel Tower’ out of straws.
Headteacher, Graham Swinbourne, said: “We’ve been holding the cerebrathon for a few years. “It fosters teamwork and co-operation and brings the different age groups together.”
