As a frequent walker on the moors around our Keighley district, I cannot help noticing the wind turbines above Oxenhope, and have some sympathy with the residents of an area close to Denholme, who have campaigned against a further additional site, with even taller and bigger turbines planned.

My reason for this letter is that, I regularly note inactivity from a number of the aforementioned.

Today, February 26, I noted only ten operating. That left 12 inactive.

I pose the question, would it not be better to have the ones we are blessed with in full working order, rather than be seeking to add further sites?

Surely maintenance is not a problem, and should any be life-expired, then why not replace them?

I would imagine servicing the ones springing up off our shores to be far more difficult, therefore are we wasting a vast amount of money on this kind of development just to appease the green element of our society?
