Glusburn County Primary School is marking Fairtrade Fortnight with a number of events.
The school – which has Fairtrade status – will hold a coffee morning in school from 9am to 10.30am on March 14. And the youngsters will be dressed in the Fairtrade colours of green and blue.
“Everyone is welcome to come along,” said Carla Lambert, leader of the school’s Fairtrade team.
This year’s campaign highlights the plight of banana farmers in Latin America, and Glusburn’s other events include a banana mascot competition, banana workshops and a family quiz, which takes place tomorrow.
