A Blues band fronted by a Los Angeles-born vocalist is due to perform at Keighley Blues Club this month.

Kat & Co features former Columbia recording artist, Kathleen Pearson, and will be playing on March 14, along with guest trio Siren & Strings.

Kat & Co is a collaboration between founding members Kathleen, guitarist-producer Francesco Accurso and pianist Frederico Parodi. The rhythm section comprises Vincenzo Ettore Virgilitto on bass and Nick Owsianka on drums.

Kathleen has shared the stage with acclaimed musicians such as Lulu, Jason Robello, Deitra Farr and Lil Jimmy Reed.

Her group has been billed as redefining the boundaries of blues, adding a modern spin to the genre while retaining its traditional, historical elements.

The band's debut album - I Kat The Blues - was released in April 2013. Featuring guest appearances by Mud Morganfield, Lil' Jimmy Reed and Chad Strenz, the CD is now available for download. Kat & Co's previous performances include the Montreaux Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's, London Blues Festival, The Great British R&B Festival and Shepherds Bush Empire.

They will be supported at their Keighley gig by Siren & Strings, an acoustic covers trio using vocals, guitar, saxophone and clarinet. As part of a special offer, people who buy a ticket for this gig will also receive a ticket to see the multi award-winning Trevor Sewell Band for only £3. They will perform at the club on April 4.

A club spokesman said: "Attendances have picked up recently, so we thought we'd like to give something back to our regulars for sticking with us through the years, as well as hopefully attracting new people.

"It's only the wonderful support the club receives from the discerning live music fans in the Keighley area that keeps us going. Long may it continue."
