Road closure information in Keighley, Silsden, and Haworth for the Tour de France have been revealed.

Bradford Council this afternoon unveiled a list of major roads to be closed along the route of the cycle race on July 6.

Movement of traffic through places like Keighley, Silsden, Cross Roads, Haworth and Oxenhope will not be permitted.

The council said that roads on and connected to the route were expected to be closed for at least eight hours.

They will close to traffic very early in the morning to allow time for the route to be prepared and infrastructure setup.

The roads must remain closed after the cyclists have passed through to last updated to disperse and infrastructure to be removed.

Pedestrians will be allowed access to the closed roads, and residents who have Backing of the route will be offered alternative parking where appropriate.

Two hours before the cyclists arrive, a procession of around 180 vehicles called the “caravan” will pass along the route, giving out memorabilia and publicity material to waiting crowds.

• See the Keighley News this Thursday for more details and a list of roads due to be closed.
