Action will be taken to stop stone flags being stolen from a Keighley street.

A number of flags have been taken from Nashville Terrace, which is off Fell Lane, in recent months.

Police plan to show residents how to security-mark their flags in order to stop more being stolen.

The visit will be during a committee clean-up planned this month by Bradford Council for the Nashville area.

A council officer will talk with householders about options for filling the holes left by the missing flags.

Ward councillor Jan Smithies said: “This is an unadopted road and is the responsibility of residents, not the council.

“We will try to help residents collectively find a cost-effective way of dealing with the gaps in the flagging if they are willing to pool funds, though I realise in these cash-strapped times it may not be everyone’s priority.”
