District residents have been encouraged to get behind a tandem bike ride by two BBC TV presenters.

Look North hosts Harry Gration and Amy Garcia (above) will cycle the entire Yorkshire route of the Tour de France on a tandem – all in aid of Sport Relief.

They are setting off from Leeds tomorrow, and will cycle 241 miles during the following eight days, arriving in Sheffield on March 21.

The pair are due to call at Silsden Methodist Church at about 2.30pm on Tuesday for a refreshment break. People are encouraged to go along and make a donation to the good cause.

They will reach Keighley at about 3pm the same day, followed by Haworth an hour later.

The presenters will leave the village at 9.30am the next day, and will cycle through Oxenhope between 10am and 10.30am. They would welcome support from residents prepared to turn out on either day and cheer them on.
