Open forum invite to discuss crime in Keighley

First published in News

Residents are being invited to an open forum to discuss crime and policing in Keighley.

The Keighley Safer Neighbourhood Team will host the gathering at Central Hall in Alice Street from 7pm to 8.30pm on Monday.

Police sergeant Alex Alderson will outline local crime issues and what the future holds for policing in the town.

Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator Catherine Winn and members of local Watch groups will explain how people can get involved in existing groups or set up their own. There will also be crime prevention tips and demonstrations of low-priced equipment to help people make their homes secure.

A spokesman said: “The forum is a good opportunity to meet up and share information with others with a view to making Keighley a safer place to live.”

Instead of these blessed 'traffic wardens' let's have more bobbies on the beat.

LGM, I think I follow your train of thought here, the trouble is the location I believe you are thinking of would be far too sensible and central. If the existing police station was to be relocated I'm thinking of either Keighley gate or the Tarn.

Or we could do without a police station at all and ship all the ne'er-do-wells off to Australia to fend for themselves with all the other reprobates that ended up there :)
