Well-known Keighley nursery teacher and Girlguiding leader Anne Argall has died aged 57.
Anne was a central figure in the life of Laycock, serving for many years on the village hall committee.
She was a deacon at Keighley New Church, Laycock, as well as being involved with the village Brownies, Rainbows and playgroup.
Anne was born in Singapore in 1956, moving to the UK four years later and growing up in Bradford.
She met her Australian husband in 1974 through speedway, where he was a rider and she a cheerleader, and they went on to have three children, Emma, Marie and Luke.
Anne spent many years as a nursery nurse, at Strong Close Nursery and Glusburn Primary School, then at the age of 50 requalified as a nursery teacher, working at Strong Close and schools in Thornton and Bradford.
Anne’s interests included walking, making cards, knitting, photography and singing. She regularly visited a friend in Kiev, where she shared her teaching skills with local schools.
Anne’s son Luke described his mother as a very caring person who always had time for anyone.
He said: “She was always smiling, always bubbly, and always had something going on.”
