Two growing Keighley businesses are cementing a trading partnership which has won high praise from the town’s MP.

Keybury Fire and Security has provided extensive installations across the six-strong franchise network of leading motorcycle and car dealer Colin Appleyard.

State-of-the-art fire and intruder alarms, and a CCTV system, have been fitted at the motorbike dealership in Wellington Road, Keighley.

CCTV and intruder alarms have also been installed at Appleyard’s Nissan showroom in Coney Lane and cameras are now in operation at the firm’s main Suzuki dealership and head office in Halifax Road.

Plus, enhanced security provision is in place at the Appleyard used car dealership in Shipley and at the company’s recently- acquired Subaru franchises in Huddersfield and Ashton-under-Lyne, which is also an Isuzu dealership.

Keybury managing director Frank Gee said: “We have developed an excellent trading partnership with Colin Appleyard, an alliance we feel can be held aloft as a shining example of best practice between local companies working together for the good of the local economy.”

His Appleyard counterpart, Robin Appleyard, said the two firms had a lot in common.

“We are both traditional family-run businesses with a passion for exceeding our customers’ expectations,” he said.

“We always choose to work with local companies, provided we don’t have to compromise on service.

“Keybury has always provided excellent quality of work and support for us, so I have no doubts that our business alliance will go from strength to strength.”

MP Kris Hopkins paid glowing tribute to the partnership.

“It is good to see two renowned local firms collaborating for mutual benefit and – in so doing – directly benefiting the local economy and securing local jobs,” he said. “I wish both companies continued success.”

Between them, the two award-winning companies have a history stretching back 75 years and have seen their workforces grow.

Colin Appleyard, established in 1971, employs 125 people, while Keybury, founded some three decades ago, has a 36-strong staff.
