An art-loving Steeton youngster is celebrating winning a television drawing and colouring contest.
Seven-year-old Amina Touray was won toys and a winner’s certificate after entering the competition run by Channel 5’s ‘Milkshake!’ – a programme designed for younger children.
Amina’s mum, Sarah Touray, said: “Amina had to draw her favourite character doing something helpful, so she drew Peppa Pig helping her little brother George crossing the road.
“She won a range of toys and her name and picture is on the Milkshake website. She’s chuffed to bits.”
Amina is a pupil at Eastburn Junior and Infant School. Mrs Touray added: “She’d do art day in, day out if she could.”
A spokesman for the competition organisers said: “We asked viewers to draw a picture of their favourite ‘Milkshake!’ character being helpful.
“Everyone here at ‘Milkshake!’ thought Amina’s picture was superb. We especially loved the description with her picture, which was: ‘Peppa Pig helping George Pig to cross the road sensibly’. Clearly a very sweet and thoughtful Milkshaker!”
