The Brontë Film Season will begin on Monday with a classic version of Wuthering Heights.
The 1939 adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel starred Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier as Cathy and Heathcliff.
The season will also include the 1943 adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre, starring Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine, on April 4.
The following day sees a rare screening of Devotion, from 1946, a fictionalised account of the Brontës’ lives.
Screenings will be at the West Lane Baptist Centre, Haworth, from 7.30pm. The film season is part of Bradford Film Festival. E-mail louisa.briggs@bronte. org.uk or call 01535 640188 to book tickets at £4 (£2 concessions).
