A Keighley man is striding out to raise money for Manorlands.
Robert Morrisroe will take part in next month’s London Marathon in support of the hospice.
“I put my name down in the ballot for a place as a bit of fun – I didn’t expect to get selected!” said the 43-year-old, of Broomhill Grove.
“I play football and cricket but I’ve never really been a runner. I’ve been in training for a few months and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“I asked around about which charity I should support, and most people suggested Manorlands.”
Mr Morrisroe, an overlooker at textile firm Hattersley Aladdin, has so far raised about £500 in sponsorship. Anyone wishing to donate can call him on 07450 665099 or go to his Facebook page.
