A coffee morning is being held at Steeton on Saturday to raise funds for Martin House children’s hospice.

The event is the latest in a series staged by villager Lynda Corser, her family and friends.

Proceeds go to Martin House at Boston Spa in tribute to the care received there by Mrs Corser's late nephew, Andrew Pratt, who died in 1998 at the age of 12.

The event – themed on Easter and butterflies, a symbol for children’s hospices – will include refreshments, cakes, crafts, a tombola, raffle, ‘pick an egg’ game and Little Boxes of Happiness.

Barclays has offered to match fund whatever is raised, up to £750.

The coffee morning is at St Stephen’s Church Hall, from 10am to noon. Admission is free.

Anyone able to donate items to sell or for prizes is asked to call 01535 678698.
