The Lord Mayor of Bradford will be among the guests at a fundraising night next week to help a seriously ill Keighley child.
The Professional Muslims Institute (PMI), run by Highfield resident Javed Bashir, is backing the campaign to raise half a million pounds for eight-year-old Callum Ingham, of Parkwood Rise.
Callum may require costly treatment abroad for neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer.
Lord Mayor Coun-cillor Khadim Huss-ain will be one of 250 people attending the fundraising dinner at 6pm on April 10 in Keighley’s Victoria Hall. Also present will be Azhar Sidd-ique, an entrepreneur from the BBC series The Apprentice, and Rashid Khan, a former professional rugby league player who appeared in Channel 4’s Make Bradford British.
Mr Bashir, pictured with Callum, said: “The event will be a good opportunity to network with successful role models and be inspired by their stories.”
Acts and speakers during the night will include stand-up comedian Jeff Mirza, Bollywood pianist Imani Hekima and imam and lawyer Qari Asim. Contact Mr Bashir on 0844 4435652 for tickets.
