A coffee morning at Steeton in aid of Martin House children’s hospice was a huge success.
The event at St Stephen’s Church hall raised £769 and match funding is being provided by Barclays.
Attractions included refreshments, cakes, crafts, a tombola, raffle, ‘pick an egg’ game and Little Boxes of Happiness.
The coffee morning was the latest in a series staged by villager Lynda Corser, her family and friends.
Proceeds go to Martin House at Boston Spa in tribute to the care received there by Mrs Corser’s late nephew, Andrew Pratt, who died 16 years ago today, aged 12.
“The coffee morning went brilliantly – there were lots of people there,” said Mrs Corser.
“I would like to thank Barclays for its support and special thanks go to everyone who helped. I can’t praise them enough.”
She also makes special mention of six-year-old Thomas Stokes, who created a collage – featuring Easter items and Martin House – to help decorate the hall.
