Airedale NHS Foundation Trust has won a bid to provide employee health and wellbeing services to health studies students at the University of Bradford.
Airedale Hospital’s employee health and wellbeing team will make regular visits to the university to support students studying vocational courses, including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, radiography, occupational therapy, return to practice and sport rehabilitation.
Acting head of employee health and wellbeing services for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Joanne Hoban, said: “Employee health assistance has widespread benefits to both the students and the patients that they care for.”
The team will assist managers dealing with sickness absence by providing advice on interventions, rehabilitation and any necessary workplace adjustments.
The service will run for two years and support about 1,000 students.
Julie Sewell, from the University of Bradford Health Studies, said: “We are pleased to be working with Airedale Hospital and our students are already seeing the benefits the partnership creates.”
