A couple put their best foot forward to raise money for Manorlands.

Adam Brunskill and girlfriend Bethany Wise have both taken part in running events to support the Sue Ryder hospice. And together they have raised £1,800.

Adam, 26, from Newsholme, took part in the Great North Run last September and coined-in £700 – double his target.

“Running the Great North Run was an amazing experience and I’d encourage others to take on the challenge,” he said.

He was inspired to take-up running by Bethany, 26, who lives at Oakworth.

She entered the first Yorkshire Marathon last October – her third marathon in a year – and raised £1,100.

“I’m a personal trainer so I used my expertise and experience as a marathon runner to coach Adam with his running.

“We were both pleased to accept charity places and raise sponsorship for Manorlands because it’s a local charity that has cared for people we know.”

Sue Ryder regional fundraiser, Matthew Binns, said: “We have charity places available in many running events, including the Great North Run and the Yorkshire Marathon.”
