Girls from a Keighley Brownie pack have been putting the boot into a local good cause!
Leaders from 1st Thwaites Brow Brownies collected nine pairs of old children’s wellies, which they then gave to the youngsters to turn into plant holders.
Now the colourful, improvised planters have been donated to Manorlands to sell for its funds.
Brown Owl, Sue Foucher, said the children created the planters as part of a challenge to celebrate 100 years since the Brownies were first established.
“The wellies looked very pretty and attractive,” she added. “There were eight children involved, and the actual planting session went very well.”
Places are currently available at the Brownie group for girls aged seven to 11. Contact her on 01535 211837 for further information.
