Plans to put traffic lights on a major Keighley roundabout will not go ahead in the next 12 months.
Keighley Area Committee decided not to earmark any cash for the £100,000 project in the current financial year.
However, the plan, to “signalise” one of the roundabouts on the busy Hard Ings Road, remains on the reserve list for funding from the committee’s Safer Roads budget.
The Keighley News last week revealed Bradford Council’s traffic light proposals for the middle roundabout of three on Hard Ings Road, near the junction with Royd Way.
The proposed work is intended to link in with plans, currently awaiting government approval, to turn Hard Ings Road into a dual carriageway.
The traffic lights proposal received a mixed reaction from local politicians who are heavily involved in efforts to tackle congestion on Keighley roads.
