Further action is planned to tackle parking problems caused by visitors and staff from Airedale Hospital.

Bradford Council imposed parking restrictions on the Thornhill Road estate, Steeton, where indiscriminate parking was said to be causing dangers on corners.

The council’s Keighley Area Committee has now granted money for similar measures at Harefield Close in Eastburn.

The council said that parked cars from the hospital were causing access and road safety problems at the junction with Skipton Road.

The Harefield Close measures were among £30,000 of Traffic Regulation Orders approved by the committee last week.

The orders include a restriction on heavy goods vehicles travelling through Laycock and changes to parking restrictions in Main Street, Haworth.

New parking restrictions will improve visibility for drivers at junctions including Mornington Street/North Street in central Keighley, Aireworth Road/Kinara Close/Grafton Road in Stockbridge, Nessfield Drive/Westburn Avenue/Westfell Road in the Fell Lane area, Station Road/Mill Lane in Oxenhope, and Daleside Road/Hospital Road in Riddlesden.

Other measures will provide extra parking in Church Street and Luton Street, Keighley, and improve residents’ parking in Mill Hey, Haworth.
