Over 100 people attended an open day at Wyedean Weaving in Haworth.

The event was held to celebrate the company’s half century of manufacturing in the Bronte village.

Past and present employees and homeworkers, suppliers and service providers, as well as dignitaries and neighbours, attended.

“The event was a resounding success,” said a spokesman for the Bridgehouse Mill firm, which is famous globally for its manufacture of uniform accessories for the military and police forces.

“Present staff had set up displays and exhibitions of the products Wyedean makes today, and mill tours were eagerly taken up by the guests.

“Former employees were keen to see how the place had changed and other guests were interested to know more about the company’s manufacturing skills.

“We’d like to say a big thank-you to everyone who contributed and attended, making the day so memorable.”
