Oakworth old people’s welfare group meets at Holden Hall every Thursday afternoon, from 1.45pm to 3.30pm. There is always something going on with bingo, dancing at their weekly meetings and of course, there are always refreshments available. New members are always made very welcome A new venture in the village is an art club at Christ Church on Thursday at 7.30pm. This recently started, popular little group welcomes anyone with an interest in art whether experienced or just beginning.

Keighley Youth Theatre, KYDZ, meets every Thursday at Oakworth Methodist Church. The group has up to 20 members aged ten to 18, and recruit new members through drama workshops. At their Thursday sessions the group learn drama skills as well as devising performances. They also present two stage productions each year. The next production is being planned.

Sunday: Christ Church: Sunday Eucharist will be at 9.30am, and afterwards you are welcome to share tea and coffee in the church hall St John’s Church Newsholme: Today’s Sung Eucharist service will be at 11.15am.

The Easter Sunday service at the Methodist Church today led by Reverend Barbara Walls will be at 10.30am and will be followed by refreshments in the church lounge.

Today’s service at Slack Lane Baptist Church will be at 10.45am.

Monday: Oakworth Scouts meet on in Monday evenings in Holden Hall, at 7pm. New members are always welcome.

Oakworth Morris dancers are on the lookout for dancers and musicians to help continue the tradition. New members are always welcome and they claim that they can teach anyone to dance. Oakworth Toddler Group is closed for the moment due to lack of interest. If you are looking for somewhere to take your baby\toddler to meet other children for play and to develop social skills please contact Jackie on 07972727269 with a view to recommencing this group.

A youth cafe is now open on Friday evenings from 5.30pm, why not come along and find out more about their plans for the future; it looks like being an interesting and exciting place to be on a Friday night. I am told that attendance is already picking up and many interesting things are planned to take place in the next few months The Hare Hills Trust Foundation is a charity established in 1744 offering financial aid to help pupils and students with their education. The Trustees are seeding applications from individual students who reside within the area of the Trust. This means the area of the former Oakworth Urban District Council, excluding the former Laycock ward and as such parts of the former Oldfield and Stanbury wards as lies outside Oakworth Parish.
