Apply for cash pot in Keighley
8:20am Thursday 24th April 2014 in News
A £67,000 grant scheme for community groups in Keighley is entering its final year.
Organisations in Keighley West ward have only a handful of chances this year to apply for money from the government’s Community First fund.
The scheme covers neighbourhoods including Braithwaite, Bracken Bank, Exley Head, Fell Lane and Laycock.
A panel of people living and working in Keighley West decides who should be given grants of between £200 and £2,500.
Panel member, Coun Jan Smithies, said: “Community First covers most anything that will improve community life.
“It’s useful seed money to get all sorts of projects started. We’ve already funded 18 schemes in the first three years, from old people’s planting groups to play events.”
The next deadline for applications is May 5. Visit keighleywest.wordpress.com or call 01535 665258 for further information.
