A hen party with a difference will raise money for a cancer charity.

Brides and bridesmaids will walk from Haworth to Keighley wearing their wedding gear.

Anyone is welcome to join the four-mile trek, including men, so long as they are dressed in bridal wear.

The September 27 walk sets off from the Black Bull in Haworth and finishes at Wetherspoon’s in Keighley, and will raise money for the Against Breast Cancer charity.

Vena Reid, one of the organisers, said: “It is a fun participation event taken at your own pace. “Basically, people dress up in bridal wear, such as bride, bridesmaid or flower girl, and trainers.

“We’re getting a good response already so we hope this will be a great success and raise much-needed funds.”

Vena said under-18s are allowed to take part but had to be accompanied by an adult, and babies in decorated prams are also welcome.

Participants must wear trainers. Registration is at the Black Bull from noon, and the walk sets off at 2pm. Minimum sponsorship is £20, or £10 for under-18s.
