Dozens of children and their fathers took to the trees for a Forest School in Riddlesden.

They learned how to make fairy houses and dens using trees and bushes.

Children also went birdwatching during the session in the grounds of Riddlesden St Mary’s Primary School.

Forest School practitioners, Dawn Noutch and Karen Wadsworth, led the session for 44 children, 28 fathers and one grandfather, with help from two Police Community Support Officers.

Children came from ten Keighley primary schools, including Holycroft, Lay-cock, Victoria, Parkwood and Merlin Top.

Karen said: “Forest School is about encouraging people to go outdoors in all weathers to learn about the environment, while having fun and learning new skills.”
