The life of a teacher, who taught until three days before she died of cancer, will be celebrated at a special charity concert next month.
And proceeds from ‘A Night to Remember Mo’ will go to Manorlands, which provided care and support for her and the family.
Mo Hooley was head of chemistry at St Mary’s School in Menston, where she worked for 17 years until her death in February, aged 55.
Performing in the concert at the Octagon in Sandbeds on May 1 will be The Dunwells, whose line-up includes three former St Mary’s pupils.
Mrs Hooley’s widower, Jed, who has taught geography at St Mary’s for 34 years, said. “We’ve already sold 200 tickets, which is nearly half of the total, and it’s all going to help Manorlands in Oxen-hope, which provided such wonderful palliative care.
“What they do is ongoing, and myself and our two children, Kathryn, who’s 18, and James, who’s 15, still go there for counselling.”
Mrs Hooley, who had two other children and was also a grandmother, died after 16 months battling the disease.
Concert tickets are £7.50. Call (01943) 883000 or (01274) 562252.
