A movie filmed in Haworth is due to be shown at Keighley Picture House this weekend.

Director Jack King plans a private screening of his 25-minute film Geezer for cast and crew. It was filmed at various locations in Haworth last autumn and will be entered in film festivals.

The movie tells of a 69-year-old recluse with mild learning disabilities who is struggling to come to terms with the death of his beloved pet.

Then an old neighbour arrives at Alan’s tumbledown cottage, forcing him to face some painful truths.

Jack described the film as a dark drama inspired by several strange and private people whose behaviour had baffled him in the past.

He said: “Writing this film has given me access to those ominous caverns hidden away behind brick walls, soiled curtains and barren doors.”
