Two businessmen have presented an £820 cheque to Manorlands.

The cash – handed over by Simon Harrison of A1 Stairlifts and Kevin McGrann, from Powerhouse Media – was raised through two events.

A black-tie ball, organised by Simon and Vicki Harrison, was held at Cougar Park in November. Entertainment was provided by Portuguese singer Bruno Mariano, who had been flown in for the evening.

Part of the proceeds went to Manorlands and the remainder to the Reverse Rett charity.

The second event was the Powerhouse Christmas party at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton, attended by more than 200 people. It included an auction.

Funds were later boosted by raffling a cake baked by Powerhouse Media’s Jayne Helliwell, which raised £51.

Andrew Wood, Manorlands-based Sue Ryder regional fundraiser for Keighley, said: “These were two of many successful fundraisers of late boosted by the involvement of A1 Stairlifts and Powerhouse Media.

“I’d also like to give a special thank you to Vicki Harrison, who worked hard to make the ball an event everyone enjoyed and that raised so much.”
