Keighley 13, York 24
Keighley finished a disappointing SSE Yorkshire Division One season with a re-arranged fixture against visitors York.
The game started well for the home team, forward pressure on the York line giving Leigh Sugden the chance to drive over, and a little later Ollie Mitchell added to the score with a penalty.
Then York started putting their game together and were rewarded with a penalty for scrum half Matty Hargreaves.
Using their big forwards to full advantage, the visitors forced their way over the line with a try or No 8 Andy Kay, converted by Hargreaves.
Keighley replied with a fine break by Sam Walker, finished off by his wing partner Sam Blakeley, but the second half was a very much an end-of-season affair, although it was competitive throughout.
The hosts missed three relatively easy penalties, and chose to try different combinations of players, which weakened their game somewhat.
York took full advantage with tries from centre G Davies and replacement back Campbell Thompson, both converted by Hargreaves.
