Shipley MP Philip Davies has been given a special award by the brewing and pub industry.
He visited Saltaire Brewery’s monthly beer club to receive his Parliamentary Beer Champion award.
In January, 100 MPs were given the status to recognise their support of the brewing and pub industries, and for successfully campaigning against the Beer Duty Escalator, which resulted in a reduction in beer duty of 1p a pint for two years in a row.
The industry award is backed by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) and the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA).
Bradford CAMRA’s chairman, David Boothroyd, was at the presentation.
He said: “As a SIBA member, we really appreciate the support this group of MPs has given our industry.”
