Organisers of a car boot sale due to take place in Haworth on Sunday hope the event can become a regular fixture.

The occasion is being run by Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council in conjunction with Haworth Primary School. It takes place from 8am to 1pm on the all-weather playing pitch in Butt Lane.

Most of the proceeds from the sale will go towards enhancing facilities at Haworth Primary.

Parish councillor Alan Woodward said: “We would like to see as many people as possible come and make use of this.

“Depending on how popular it is, we would like to try and hold the car boot sale once a month.

“We haven’t had car boot sales in Haworth before. There is a popular one in Silsden, so we won’t want to hold ours on the same date as that.”

A pitch for a car costs £5 or £7 for a van. Sellers can set up from 7.30am on the day, and there will be parking available for buyers at Haworth Community Centre.
