The classic film shot on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway will be celebrated on location this weekend.

The heritage line is hosting its Railway Children Weekend from May 3 to 5 in honour of the much-loved Lionel Jeffries’ film from 1970.

Visitors will be able to watch costumed actors recreating famous scenes from the movie, enjoy guided tours and travel in some of the vintage coaches used in the production.

Between 10am and 3pm on Sunday at Oakworth Station, they will be able to meet actor Chris Witty, who played the part of the young boy who was rescued by the Railway Children after injuring his leg in a tunnel.

Mr Witty will be signing copies of the book The Making Of The Railway Child-ren, and will be available to answer questions about the film and pose for photos.

Oakworth Station will also host a tea and cakes stall, as well as a display of photographs and other film memorabilia.
