Social media plays crucial appeal role

Social media will play its part in the Emergency Department Appeal.

Organisers are using the medium, alongside more traditional methods, to help boost the fundraising campaign.

“Like most charities, the appeal has a hashtag on its twitter account so people can keep up to date with the latest news on social media on all our fundraising efforts,” said fundraiser Bronagh Daly.

She added anyone wishing to share a photo from an event they’d organised or sponsorship for a friend can send a tweet to @AiredaleNHSFTCF with the hashtag #NewED in the message.

There is also a Facebook page – Funds – where people can post comments, good luck messages and photos.
