Cullingworth Gardening club meets next Wednesday 7.30pm at Cullingworth Methodist Church, Dellside Fold, when the speaker will be Katie Burnett who will talk about “Design tricks for small gardens”. The club is keen to welcome new members. The annual membership is £8 and entrance to each meeting is £1 to include a raffle ticket (£3 for visitors). Entries are now invited for the Hidden Garden competition in Cullingworth, organised by the village council. Any size of garden is eligible, the only criteria is that it is not easily seen from the house frontage. The gardens will to be judged in July/August. If you would like your garden to be considered, please contact the village clerk Angela Holmes on 273265.
Cullingworth villagers are urged to get their thinking caps on for scarecrow ideas for this year’s festival on August 23 and 24. The theme will be book characters and nursery rhymes. There is also the open category. For more information, contact Rosemary on (01535) 272325. Craft stalls are also available to hire on the day.

Boogie Tots, a lively movement to music session for young children, takes place on Thursdays, 1.30-2.15pm at Cullingworth Methodist Church. No booking required, £2 per child per session. For more details, ring (01274) 235850.
Cullingworth’s Thursday Club meet every Thursday afternoon 2.30-3.30pm, St John’s Room, St John’s Church, Cullingworth. For more details, contact Philip Logan on 272752.
Cullingworth Village Council meets the first Wednesday each month, 7.30pm, Methodist Church, Dellside Fold. Harden Parish Council (including Ryecroft) meets the second Thursday each month, 7.15pm, Memorial Hall. Wilsden Parish Council (including Harecroft) meets the first Monday each month, 7.30pm, village hall. There is a 15-minute open session at the beginning when the public has an opportunity to voice concerns.
The Cullingworth pre-school is Ofsted- registered and offers both sessional and day care, Monday to Friday during term times, 9am-12.30pm including lunch club, village hall.

Harden pre-school group for two years to school age, meets weekdays during term times, 9am-3.15pm (including lunch club), Memorial Hall.
Wilsden pre-school group is run by qualified staff, 9-11.30am and 12.45-3.30pm weekdays during term time in the village hall. For details, call 275534.
Two weekly walking groups meet in our villages: the Cullingworth group meets, today 9.15am, Methodist Church Dellside Fold, contact Peter Rye 642136 or just turn up. The Wilsden Walkers meet 9.15am, Monday, Wilsden village hall, contact Philip on 07796 504900. The walks last for about an hour and are suitable for most people, as long as they wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Only guide dogs allowed.
