There will be a charity two-hour disco Zumbathon held at the Town Hall in Silsden on Sunday, with all proceeds donated to Manorlands. There will be a fantastic prize draw on the day where winners can buy tickets to win a girly spa day for four or a family ticket to watch Bradford Bulls, plus other fabulous prizes such as photo shoots, hair salon vouchers and beauty treatments. The next meeting of Silsden’s Tour de France co-ordinating group will be tonight at 7.30pm at the Kings Arms Bolton Road Silsden. Everyone is welcome.

The last meeting of the 2013-14 season of the Civic Society will take place in the Methodist Church tonight when Jen Miles will give an update on the Swartha Wood project. The doors open at 7pm and the talk starts at 7.30pm followed by refreshments at 8.30pm, all welcome.

There is to be a French boules completion in the grounds of the former library alongside the new bandstand. This is to celebrate the Grand Tour and will be held on Father’s Day on June 15 at 1.30pm. This is open to teams of three people with their own boules. Prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed team, with the emphasis being on French-style dressing. Entry forms are available from Jeff the Barbers in Bradley Road and the closing date for entering is Sunday, June 1.

Pied Piper Pre-school runs from Monday to Friday, 9.15am-12.15pm for children between the age of two and five, with funded places for three and four-year-olds. The Methodist Church has a coffee morning each day from Tuesday to Friday. There is Chatterbox at the Methodist Church from 9am-noon from Tuesday to Thursday and then the original Friday Coffee morning, now more than 30 years old, between 9.30am and 11.30am. All welcome.

A diary has been placed in Silsden Library for organisations to record the dates of any special events they are running. This is particularly relevant to coffee mornings in order to avoid a number of them being held on the same day. Just ask at the library desk and you will be given the diary to check dates and make your own entry.

Take One youth drama group meets every Wednesday night in the Gloucester Avenue community centre from 5.30-7pm. Meet and make friends while learning some great stage skills and get the chance to perform on stage. 1st Silsden is a thriving group based at St James’ Church in Silsden and meets Friday evenings. The group currently consists of Beavers, age six to eight, Cubs, age eight to ten, and Scouts, age ten to 14, each holding separate meetings alongside activity days and camps throughout the year.
