A motorist who had two drinks with a meal has been banned from driving for a year after being found to be over the drink-drive limit.
Police spotted a Ford Focus being driven by Lee Atkinson after it struck a kerb “with force” while doing a U-turn in Fell Lane, Keighley, on April 18 this year.
Atkinson, of Prince Street in Haw-orth, gave a breath test reading of 41 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
The 42-year-old told Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court: “I had just been for a meal and had two drinks. It was a misjudgement.
“I am not a person that would normally drink and drive.”
Atkinson was banned from the roads for 12 months, fined £100, and ordered to pay costs of £85.
