An 85-year-old woman is recovering in hospital following yesterday’s road accident in Keighley town centre.
The pensioner’s condition was this morning described by police as “stable” following emergency treatment at Leeds General Infirmary.
Police and paramedics rushed to Cavendish Street after the incident was reported at 11am.
Following treatment at the scene, a police car escorted the ambulance to hospital.
Police cordoned off the road on both sides of the accident, which involved a white Mitsubishi Lancer.
A police spokesman said this morning that enquiries were continuing into the incident.
Anyone with information should contact PC 95 Birch at Western Area Roads Policing, by dialling the police non-emergency number of 101.
