TWO pupils from Lothersdale Primary School received recognition for their entries in a local writing competition.
The Airedale Writers Circle awarded prizes to Amber Ward, who is in year five, and Sebastian Ma’Har, who is in year six, during an event held at East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley.
Amber’s story, Till Death Do Us Part, which tells the tale of Arthur Collins who lost his wife in the Great Fire of London in 1666, was highly commended.
Sebastian’s entry, All Stars Genesis, which tells the story of two children developing super powers after getting struck by lightning, was commended by the judges.
The two pupils received their prizes from Settle author Jan Michael, who also told them a story.
Andrew Wheatstone, a teaching assistant at Lothersdale school, said: “We’re very proud of them and all of the children who entered the competition. We like to see good writing.”
