YOUNGSTERS at a Keighley primary school have created their own mementoes of the Tour de France.
Parkwood pupils have made miniature wire sculptures of cyclists as part of a community project funded by managers at the Airedale Shopping Centre, in Keighley.
Now other children are being invited to create their own keepsakes of the Grand Depart.
Print-making workshops will be held in the shopping centre this weekend, when the wire sculptures will also be on display.
Airedale Centre manager, Steve Seymour, said: “The visit by the Tour de France on July 6 is a major event, both for the town and the whole of West Yorkshire.
“We wanted to make sure the children of Keighley had something they could keep as a memento of the event for years to come – not just the memory of seeing the riders flash past, but also something physical to remind them of the day.
“We have been working with a community arts project called Faceless, and they organised the workshops at Parkwood and will be running the print-making sessions."
The sessions are on Saturday and Sunday. Visit airedaleshoppingcentre.co.uk for further information to book a place.
