YOUNGSTERS at Harden Primary School are doing their bit to mark the centenary of the start of the First World War.

They are producing a range of work which will be displayed at neighbouring St Saviour's Church this summer.

Their creations have included artwork, silk paintings, collages and poems, and the reception children have been sewing poppies.

All the school's 200-plus pupils have been involved in the project.

Reception teacher Hannah Moore said: "We wanted to do something as part of the commemorations and are delighted to be involved in the display.

"The children have been working on it since the beginning of term and are loving it."
