KEIGHLEY Gala Queen Charlotte Carter will give a royal seal of approval to summer activities in the town’s Airedale Shopping Centre.

She will officially launch a month of free festivities, at a 'Carnival Chaos' day next Thursday, August 7.

Charlotte, 15, will be accompanied by her retinue, junior queen Natalia Villasanta, rosebud Kayla-Mae James and pageboy Macaulay Holdsworth.

Carnival Chaos will feature a performance and workshops by Snapper Jaxx Kids Club.

“We wanted to make sure youngsters didn’t get bored during the summer holidays – I know as a dad that it’s hard to find activities for children that don’t cost too much,” said centre manager Steve Seymour.

“These fun activities should help keep them busy and burn off some energy, plus it's a chance to learn some new skills."

Further activities will be held on August 14, 21 and 28.
