A pair of lucky music fans will have the chance to meet mod icon Bruce Foxton backstage at Silsden’s Summer Jam music festival.

Bruce, former bass player with The Jam, is headlining on Sunday at the August Bank Holiday festival with his band From the Jam.

His team have told festival organisers that he has agreed to the ‘meet and greet.’

Each person who buys their Summer Jam ticket between now and 8pm on Thursday August 14, will have their name put into a draw.

The winner and a friend will be taken to meet the band who will be delighted to sign autographs and pose for photographs with the winning fans.

Summer Jam festival, on Riverside Fields, Silsden, from August 22-24 is being held in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, which has Roger Daltrey as patron and is supported by many stars of the mod music scene – so From the Jam are keen to make the event a huge success.

Organiser Andy Conway said: “This is really exciting news that someone at our festival will be able to get up close and personal with a huge music icon like Bruce Foxton and his fantastic band.

“From the Jam have a massive following nationwide – around 8,000 people turned up to see them at Leeds Mod and Ska festival last week – and we think it would be quite nice if this amazing opportunity was won by a local person.

"We have only a week to choose the winner, so we decided a fair way to do it was to put this week’s ticket buyers into a draw and pick someone out.”

To book tickets this week and be in with a chance of meeting Bruce Foxton and From the Jam go to dirtyboyinc.com or phone 07581 498817. Silsden residents get concessions on advance tickets.
